Human AGTR2 wild-type allele is located within Xq22-q23 and is approximately 4 kb in length. This allele, which encodes type-2 angiotensin II receptor protein, plays a role in the central nervous system and cardiovascular functions that are mediated by the renin-angiotensin system, apoptosis and G-protein receptor coupled signal transduction.
