AP-2 Beta Protein Definition
A transcription factor that belongs to the AP-2 family and binds viral and cellular enhancers containing the consensus 5'-GCCNNNGGC-3' DNA motif. AP-2 Beta appears to regulate expression of genes required for ectodermal development and retinoic acid-induced differentiation of neuroectodermal cells.
