ATP8A2 Protein Definition
ATPase, Aminophospholipid Transporter-Like, Class I, Type 8A, Member 2, encoded by the ATP8A2 gene, is an integral membrane protein has similarity to P-type ATPases, proteins that drive uphill transport of ions across membranes. Transfection of antisense constructs into a nontumorigenic cell line rendered the cells tumorigenic in nude mice. (from Swiss-Prot and OMIM)
