Adrenal Cortex Adenocarcinoma Definition
A carcinoma arising from the adrenal cortical cells. Adrenal cortex carcinomas (ACCs) are rare, comprising between only 0.05% and 0.2% of all cancers. Hypercortisolism is the most common hormonal abnormality observed in this cancer; patients may also present with virilism or Cushing's syndrome.
