Angiozyme Definition
A nuclease-stabilized synthetic ribozyme with potential antineoplastic activity. Anti-Flt-1 ribozyme cleaves the mRNA encoding vascular endothelial growth factor 1 (VEGF-1, or Flt-1), thereby specifically inhibiting VEGF-stimulated angiogenesis, tumor growth, and metastasis. (NCI04)
