BAI wt Allele Definition
Human BAI1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 8q24 and is approximately 81 kb in length. This allele, which encodes brain-specific angiogenesis inhibitor 1 protein, plays a role in the suppression of tumor protein p53-mediated signaling. Some glioblastomas express the gene at reduced levels.
