BAI2 wt Allele Definition
Human BAI2 wild-type allele is located within 1p35 and is approximately 37 kb in length. This allele, which encodes brain-specific angiogenesis inhibitor 2 protein, plays a role in brain-specific inhibition of angiogenesis, membrane trafficking of G-proteins and regulation of gene transcription in the brain under both normal and ischemic conditions.
