Human CD24 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 6q21 and is approximately 2 kb in length. This allele, which encodes signal transducer CD24 protein, is involved in B-cell functional modulation. Elevated expression levels of the wild type allele may indicate early stage cancer.
