CEACAM7 Protein Definition
Carcinoembryonic Antigen-Related Cell Adhesion Molecule 7, encoded by the human CEACAM7 gene, belongs to the carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) family in the immunoglobulin superfamily. It contains one immunoglobulin-like V-type domain and one immunoglobulin-like C2-type domain. This protein is a potential tumor suppressor protein and strongly down-regulated in colon adenocarcinomas. Two isoforms (2a and 2b) of this protein are produced by alternative splicing.
