Cancer Intervention and Surveillance Modeling Network Definition
Created as part of the NCI Strategic Plan to Reduce Health Disparities. A collaborative group of grantees modeling the population impact of cancer control interventions for breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer. Modeling provides an opportunity to better understand the sources of health disparities in cancer mortality, extrapolate results of randomized clinical trials to groups that carry the heaviest burden of disease and have sometimes been underrepresented in trials, and provides strategies for cancer control interventions to reduce cancer-related health disparities.
