Cullin-2 Protein Definition
Encoded by human CUL2 Gene (Cullin Family), 745-aa 87-kDa Cullin 2 is a component of multisubunit E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes with elongin BC complexes and other factors. Involved in the third step of ubiquitin conjugation, CUL2 may act as scaffold that positions substrate and the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme. CUL2 interacts with RBX1, RNF7, and TIP120A/CAND1. (NCI)
