Cyclin-Dependent Kinase Inhibitor-1C Definition
A negative regulator of cell proliferation, KIP2 is a tight-binding inhibitor of the G1 Cyclin E-CDK2, Cyclin D2-CDK4, and Cyclin A-CDK2 complexes, and also inhibits mitotic Cyclin B-CDC2. The N-terminal CDK inhibitory domain is similar to p21(CIP1). (from SWISS-PROT P49918, OMIM 600856, and NCI)
