DNA Cytosine-5-Methyltransferase 3A Definition
The DNA (cytosine-5)-methyltransferase 3A protein (909 aa, 102 kD) is encoded by the human DNMT3A gene. This soluble, nuclear protein is involved in epigenetic modification of chromatin, catalyzing the methylation of C5 in CpG dinucleotides within DNA.
