Human DNTT wild-type allele is located within 10q23-q24 and is approximately 34 kb in length. This allele, which encodes DNA nucleotidylexotransferase protein, plays a role in the template direction-independent addition of deoxyribonucleotides to the 3'-hydroxyl terminus of oligonucleotide primers.
