EML4 wt Allele Definition

Human EML4 wild-type allele is located within 2p22-p21 and is approximately 163 kb in length. This allele which encodes echinoderm microtubule associated protein like 4, may be involved in the modulation of microtubule assembly. An inversion on chromosome 2, which fuses the gene to the ALK gene, is associated with non-small cell lung cancer.
