EPS8L3 wt Allele Definition

Human EPS8L3 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 1p13.3 and is approximately 14 kb in length. This allele, which encodes EPS8-like 3 protein, is involved in erythroid differentiation and proliferation. A t(6;8)(q27;p11) chromosomal translocation, fusing this gene and the fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) gene, has been identified in cases of chronic myeloproliferative disorder.
