Enhancer of Zeste Homolog 2 Protein Definition
Expressed in many tissues by human EZH2 Gene (EZ Family/PcG Family), 746-aa 85-kDa nuclear Enhancer of Zeste Homolog 2 protein, containing a SET domain, may be involved in regulation of gene transcription and chromatin structure in the hematopoietic and central nervous systems. PcG proteins form multimeric protein complexes involved in transcriptional repression over successive cell generations. EZH2 appears to associate with embryonic ectoderm development protein VAV1 and with ATRX via the SET domain. (NCI)
