A 78 amino acid member of the CXC family of chemokines produced and secreted upon stimulation by interleukin 1 (IL1B) or tumor necrosis factor alpha. Stimulates chemotactic migration of neutrophils, monocytes, lymphocytes, and fibroblasts.
