Ethylene Thiourea Definition
A greenish, crystalline compound with a faint amine smell and emits toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides when heated to decomposition. Ethylene thiourea is mainly used as an accelerator in the production of rubber, and in the manufacture of ethylene bisdithiocarbamate pesticides. This substance is teratogenic in animals and is reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen based on evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals. (NCI05)
