Forkhead Box Protein-G1B Protein Definition
Forkhead Box Protein G1B acts as transcriptional repressor and belongs to the large FKH/HNF3 family of transcription factors, that includes the Drosophila homeotic FKH and mammalian HNF3 and BF1 proteins. Family members share a unique DNA-binding FKH box. FOXG1B expression is restricted to telencephalic neurons, with strong expression in the dentate gyrus and hippocampus. (from OMIM 164874 and NCI)
