GCLM wt Allele Definition

Human GCLM wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 1p22.1 and is approximately 21 kb in length. This allele, which encodes glutamate--cysteine ligase regulatory subunit protein, plays a role in glutathione biosynthesis. An allelic variant of the GCLM gene is associated with susceptibility to myocardial infarction.
