Gastrointestinal Secretory Inhibition involves interference with, or restraint of, gastric and intestinal fluid release from cells into the lumen of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. Suppression decreases digestion and absorption of nutrients as well as protection and lubrication of the GI tract.
