Gene Regulation Definition
1) Any of the processes by which nuclear, cytoplasmic, or intercellular factors influence the differential control of gene action at the level of transcription or translation. These processes include gene activation and genetic induction. 2) In relation to the structure and organization of a gene; refers to the regulatory elements that segregate with, and act on, a gene in a cis fashion.
