Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center Definition
The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center at the College of Physicians and Surgeons at the Columbia University is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. It is comprised of four Clinical Research Programs: Breast cancer, Urologic Malignancies, Neuro-Oncology, Experimental Therapeutics; three programs in the field of cancer causation, prevention and control: Cancerogenesis, Molecular/Cancer Epidemiology, and Cancer Causation, Prevention and Control; and four basic research programs: Molecular Oncology and Virology, Developmental Biology and Genetics, Radiation, Physics and Biology, and Immunology programs.
