Histone-Lysine N-Methyltransferase SETD8 Definition
The histone-Lysine methyltransferase SETD8 (399aa, 43 kD) is encoded by the human SETD8 gene. This soluble, nuclear protein may play a role in repression of transcription by RNA polymerase II, and formation of epigenetic boundary elements in chromatin.
