Human ICAM2 wild-type allele is located within 17q23-q25 and is approximately 4 kb in length. This allele, which encodes intercellular adhesion molecule 2 protein, plays a role in the mediation of adhesive interactions important for antigen-specific immune response, NK-cell mediated clearance, and lymphocyte recirculation.
