Human IKZF2 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 2q34 and is approximately 152 kb in length. This allele, which encodes zinc finger protein Helios, plays a role in the regulation of both transcription and development of hematopoietic cells. Genetic variation may be associated with the relapse of acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
