IL24 wt Allele Definition

Human IL24 wild-type allele is located within 1q32 and is approximately 7 kb in length. This allele, which encodes interleukin-24 protein, is involved in terminal cell differentiation and anti-proliferation. IL24 may have utility for gene-based therapy of diverse human cancers through the induction of p53 independent apoptosis.
