Intercellular Adhesion Molecule-1 Definition
LFA-1 is a receptor for ICAM1, a surface molecule constitutively expressed on some tissues and induced on others in inflammation. The interaction of LFA-1 with ICAM provides essential accessory adhesion signals in many immune interactions, including those between T- and B-lymphocytes and cytotoxic T-cells and their targets.
