Interferon Activation Definition
Through decreased degradation, or increased production or receptor binding, Interferon Activation involves induction of the activity of secreted proteins (alpha, beta, and gamma interferon types) that confer viral resistance, inhibit cell proliferation, enhance phagocytosis, augment NK cell activity, and show other immunomodulatory functions.
