Interferon Regulatory Factor-4 Definition
Interferon regulatory factor 4 is a transcriptional activator that binds to the interferon-stimulated response element (ISRE) of the MHC class I promoter and to the immunoglobulin lambda light chain enhancer, together with PU.1. IRF4 probably plays a role in the ISRE-targeted signal transduction mechanisms of lymphoid cells. Two isoforms are produced by alternative splicing. (from OMIM 601900 and NCI)
