Interferon Suppression Definition
Through increased degradation, or decreased production or receptor binding, Interferon Suppression involves interference with, or restraint of, the activities of secreted proteins (alpha, beta, and gamma interferon types) that confer viral resistance, inhibit cell proliferation, enhance phagocytosis, augment NK cell activity, and show other immunomodulatory functions.
