Interleukin-11 Definition
Human interleukin-11 protein (199 aa, 21 kDa precursor) is encoded by the human interleukin-11 (IL11) gene. This protein stimulates T-cell-dependent development of immunoglobulin-producing B cells in antigen-specific antibody responses. It supports proliferation of both hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells and regulates bone marrow adipogenesis. This protein also plays immunomodulatory roles in rheumatoid arthritis.
