MAP-Kinase-6 Definition
Expressed in skeletal muscle, brain, heart, placenta, lung, liver, pancreas, kidney, and fibroblasts by human MAPK6 Gene (MAPK Family), 721-aa 83-kDa nuclear MAP Kinase 6 is a Ser/Thr protein kinase activated by protein phosphorylation cascades that acts as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals and likely promotes entry in the cell cycle. MAPK6 phosphorylates MAP2. (NCI)
