Human MIR145 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 5q33.1 and is 87 bases in length. This allele, which encodes MIR145 pre-miRNA, plays a role in the regulation of gene expression. Alteration in the expression of this gene is associated with the development of prostate and colorectal cancers as well as chronic lymphocytic leukemia, Burkitt lymphoma, and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
