MIR16-1 wt Allele Definition
The human MIR16-1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 13q14.3 and is 88 bases in length. This allele, which encodes MIR16-1 pre-miRNA, plays a role in the regulation of gene expression. Alteration in the expression of this gene is associated with the development of cancers of the liver, pituitary and prostate as well as leukemias and lymphomas.
