MOIRA Gene Product Definition
The Drosophila gene moira (mor) encodes a non-specific RNA polymerase II transcription factor involved in chromatin modeling, which is a component of the nucleosome remodeling complex. It contains a MYB DNA binding domain and interacts genetically with Antp, Pc, Dfd, Scr, ph-p, and other genes. Similar sequences have been identified in Homo sapiens, Mus musculus, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, and Schizosaccharomyces pombe. (from FlyBase 0002783 and NCI)
