Mitotic Recombination Definition
Mitotic Recombination, crossing over, can occur between homologous chromosomes during mitosis, but is very rare because the chromosomes do not normally pair. Chromosomes or DNA molecules are broken and the fragments are rejoined in new combinations of previously linked genes.
