N-Methyl-N-nitro-N-Nitrosoguanidine Definition

A pale yellow to pink colored, crystalline solid nitrosamine that turns green or orange when exposed to light and emits very toxic fumes of nitrogen oxides when heated to decomposition. N-methyl-N-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine is used in laboratory research as an experimental mutagen, teratogen and carcinogen. Exposure to this substance irritates the eyes, skin and respiratory-tract. N-methyl-N-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine is reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen. (NCI05)
