Nuclear Factor I. Identified as a cellular protein involved in Adenovirus DNA replication, and independently as a transcriptional activator (CTF-1, CAAT-binding transcription factor). Ubiquitously expressed. Four genes, NFIA, NFIB, NFIC, and NFIX encode NF-I proteins.
