Expressed in brain by human NEURL Gene, 574-aa 62-kDa Neuralized-like Protein is a homolog of neuralized (neu: Drosophila, C. elegans) that appears to be involved in embryonic neurogenic cell fate determination in the central nervous system. Like neu, NEURL contains 2 NHRs (neuralized homology repeats) and a C-terminal RING finger. (NCI)
