P276 Definition
An alkaloid derived from the Amoora rohituka tree with potential antineoplastic activity. P276 selectively binds to and inhibits the cyclin-dependent kinases (CDKs) Cdk4/cyclin D1 and Cdk1/cyclin B, serine/threonine kinases that play key roles in the regulation of the cell cycle and cellular proliferation. Inhibition of these kinases leads to cell cycle arrest between the G1-S transition, induction of apoptosis, and inhibition of tumor cell proliferation.
