PR-Domain Zinc Finger Protein-1 Definition
Expression by human PRDM1 Gene increased on virus induction, 789-aa 88-kDa PR-Domain Zinc Finger Protein 1 is a transcriptional repressor containing a SET domain and 4 C2H2-type zinc fingers. PRDM1 specifically binds to the PRDI (positive regulatory domain I) element of the beta-IFN gene promoter and represses beta-interferon gene expression. PRDM1 also drives maturation of B lymphocytes into Ig secreting cells. (NCI)
