PTK7 Protein Tyrosine Kinase-7 Definition
Expressed in lung, liver, pancreas, kidney, placenta, melanocytes, thyroid gland, ovary, brain, heart, and skeletal muscle (but not in colon) by human PTK7 Gene (INSR family), 1070-aa 118-kDa (precursor) PTK7 Protein Tyrosine Kinase 7 is a type I membrane protein containing 7 Ig-like C2-type domains that appears to lack tyrosine kinase catalytic activity and may function as a cell adhesion molecule. PTK7 may be a colon carcinoma tumor progression marker. (NCI)
