The Prostate, Lung, Colorectal, and Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial, or PLCO Trial, is a large-scale study to determine if certain tests will reduce the number of deaths from these cancers. Sponsored by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the study will involve 148,000 men and women ages 55 through 74 at medical facilities in 9 geographic areas across the United States.
