Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type-T Definition
Expressed in the central nervous system by human PTPRT Gene (PTP Family), type I membrane Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase Receptor Type T is a receptor-type PTP with an extracellular region containing 4 fibronectin type III domains, 1 Ig-like C2-type domain, and 1 MAM domain; a single transmembrane region; and 2 tandem intracellular PTP catalytic domains. PTPRT may be involved in signal transduction and cellular adhesion in the CNS. PTPs typically regulate cell growth, differentiation, and mitotic cycle. The mouse protein structure and expression also suggest a role in signal transduction and cellular adhesion in the central nervous system. (NCI)
