Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase-IVA1 Definition
Encoded by human PTP4A1 Gene (PTP Family), Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase IVA1 is a regulatory cell signaling nuclear tyrosine phosphatase primarily associated with the plasma membrane that belongs to a small class of prenylated PTPs, contains a PTP domain and a characteristic C-terminal prenylation motif, and may be an immediate-early gene product in mitogen-stimulated cells. The surface membrane association of PTP4A1 depends on C-terminal prenylation. (NCI)
