RASSF1 wt Allele Definition
Human RASSF1 wild-type allele is located in the vicinity of 3p21.3 and is approximately 11 kb in length. This allele, which encodes ras association domain family 1 protein, is involved in DNA hypermethylation and DNA repair. The gene is also associated with the pathogenesis of a variety of cancers, and is considered to be a candidate tumor suppressor gene.
