RHOC Protein Definition
RHO C protein is a product of the ARHC gene that regulates remodeling of the actin cytoskeleton during cell morphogenesis and motility. Rho C enhances metastasis when over expressed, whereas a dominant-negative Rho inhibits metastasis. Analysis of the phenotype of cells expressing dominant-negative Rho C indicates that Rho C is important in tumor cell invasion. (from OMIM 165380 and NCI)
