The Rebecca and John Moores University of California at San Diego Comprehensive Cancer Center was founded in 1979. Research activities are grouped in seven programs: Cancer Biology, Cancer Genetics, Cancer Pharmacology, Cancer Prevention and Control, Cancer Symptom Control, Translational Oncology, Viral Malignancy. There are more than 260 faculty members of the Center, and 12 shared resources providing investigators with access to expensive equipment and specialized expertise. At any given time, the Cancer Center offers nearly 200 clinical trials.
